A leading printing and packaging company is seeking an experienced and driven Lamination Manager to lead its lamination operations. This role is critical to ensuring world-class production performance, product quality, and compliance in a fast-paced, deadline-driven manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all lamination operations, including:
- Solvent-based lamination
- Solvent-free lamination
- Extrusion lamination
- Lead daily production activities to meet output, quality, and delivery targets
- Ensure full compliance with BRCGS Packaging Materials Standard, GMP, and food safety requirements
- Drive a zero-defect quality culture and ensure adherence to strict quality standards
- Provide strong technical leadership on lamination processes, materials, and adhesives
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on production issues, quality defects, and downtime, implementing effective corrective and preventative actions
- Optimize machine performance, reduce waste, and improve efficiency in line with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles
- Oversee production planning and scheduling to meet tight deadlines
- Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and audit readiness at all times
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing production team
- Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, especially relating to solvents and extrusion processes
- Collaborate with Maintenance to ensure high equipment reliability and uptime

Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements
Qualifications
•Recognised Lamination Trade Qualification (essential)
•Additional technical or production qualification (advantageous)
Experience
• 5–10 years’ experience in a lamination management role within the printing and packaging industry
Proven Experience In:
- Solvent-based lamination
- Solvent-free lamination
- Extrusion lamination
- Experience in a BRC / food-grade packaging environment is essential
- Demonstrated success operating in a high-pressure, deadline-driven production environment
Technical Skills
Strong working knowledge of:
- Flexible substrates (films, foils, paper)
- Adhesive chemistries and curing processes
Hands-on experience with:
- Nordmeccanica laminators (essential)
- Extrusion lamination machinery (essential)
Ability to troubleshoot lamination issues such as:
- Delamination
- Curling
- Tunnelling
- Adhesive failures
- Experience applying Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement tools
Intermediate computer literacy, including:
- Production systems / ERP systems
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
